Hello everyone,

Huge congratulations to everyone that has been working so hard the last few weeks! We've had a great start to the season and can't wait to see what this group is capable of in the next few weeks! From this point on, rehearsals become increasingly staggered so it is very important to attend rehearsals. Please check the calendars in the band app or on our booster page ahead of time.

9/2/22 - Band Parent and Senior Recognition Night at Football Game

Please see an additional email with specific information. Call time for band members is 5:20 pm.

9/7/22 - ASR Rehearsal

Please sign up for the band ASR (both halves) and meet us on the field for rehearsal. Please make sure you have comfortable shoes to march in. You may of course change into them should you need to. Those taking the bus or having activities immediately following the school day will have plenty of time to get to their next event.

9/9/22 - School Assembly

Please head down to the band room at the beginning of ASR for some pep band song performances during the school assembly. We will walk to the stadium immediately to be playing as students arrive. The exact location in the stadium is TBD although assumed in our regular football game location.

9/9/22 - Rehearsal Under the Lights

6-9 pm we will rehearse in the stadium at sunset and under the lights. Please have music, drill, water, and anything you would typically need for a band rehearsal. We will rehearse in uniform this night.

9/10/22 - CANCELLED Competition

Enjoy the day off!

Hello 9th grade band students and parents,

Welcome to the Middleton High School band program! September is fast approaching, and we're so excited to start another year of making music together. Please take care of the following three items so that you're ready for the school year!

  • We will check off all materials on the first full day of class (Thursday, Sept. 1)

  • If you need financial assistance with any of these supplies, no problem! Please reach out to the band teachers, student services for your house (Antares, Capella, or Phoenix), or our school social worker Ms. Shapiro.

2. Lockers and School Instruments

  • All students need to fill out this form by the first day of school. It asks whether you need a band locker and/or a school instrument.

  • The cost to rent an instrument is $50, and the instrument is yours for the school year. Percussionists pay a $25 fee to use the instruments at school. All fees go directly into the band department's repair budget and are automatically waived if you qualify for free/reduced lunch.

  • The school rents mostly the largest instruments (think tubas and bassoons), but we also have a limited number of other instruments available primarily for students in need.

  • Click the link above for the full calendar of events, and also check out the information on our website.

  • For Cardinal Band, the required performances are:

    • November 16th, 7:30p -- Fall Concert

    • January 28th, daytime -- Solo & Ensemble Festival (alternate dates available)

    • March 16th, daytime -- Large Group Festival

    • May 9th, 7:30p -- Spring Concert

    • May 29th, 8:00-1:00 -- Memorial Day (make-up available if necessary)

If we haven't met already during marching band, we're looking forward to meeting you. Enjoy the remainder of your summer, and get ready for a fun and exciting year of music! Mike Ver Voort Doug Brown Eric Rothacker
