7/28/22 T-Shirts Last Call & Front Ensemble Instrument Return

Hello everyone,

We'll have lots of updates in the next few weeks but just wanted to give you a few short ones.

1. T-Shirts - Due to the large interest, we'll keep the cart open through this Friday, July 29th for any last-minute purchases. T-Shirts can be purchased HERE. They will be given out at band camp for students to take home.

2. Front Ensemble Instrument Return - If you rented a front ensemble instrument from us, we will need them returned on Aug. 4th, 2-4 pm. The band door will likely be the most convenient. This return is so we can start setting the instruments up for sound and so they are ready for the next week. If you cannot make that time or ask someone to help make that time work, please reach out to me and we can try to figure another time out.

3. A Note to Parents of New Members - As we get closer to Marching Band Camp, your new member may suddenly decide they don't want to do marching band after all for any number of reasons. This is normal -- just shove 'em out the door on the first day! We promise we will take good care of them.

8/6/22 - Marching Band Early August Updates

Hello everyone,

Band Camp is quickly approaching and we're excited to see all of you soon! There will be a big email towards the end of next week with a lot of important information so please be on the lookout for that. Until then, below will be some updates and reminders for you!

Colorguard/Percussion Camp - 8/8-8/12

Colorguard meets 8am-12pm

Percussion (Drumline and Front Ensemble) meets 11 am-4 pm

Please bring everything you will need to play your instrument (including the instrument you rented from us)

Leadership Camp - 8/12

This is for marching band leadership ONLY and will meet 10 am-4 pm

Leadership please bring a pencil. You will have a lunch break, although lunch is not provided. Any leadership in Colorguard and percussion will be pulled for leadership day on this day.

New Members and Leadership Rookie Camp - 8/15

Starts promptly at 8 am! - More info in a large email next week

Official Start to Band Camp with ALL Members - 8/15

Calendar Changes!

August 29th Marching Band Rehearsal was listed as 8 am -12 pm. It is now 12 pm to 4 pm on the same day. We apologize for any inconvenience.

September 10th BOA Whitewater Kickoff is Cancelled. This is due to a scheduling conflict at whitewater and their football programs. We will not have anything on that day as we will have a night rehearsal the night before. Enjoy the day off!

Drillmasters, lyres, and flip folders Please refer back to the handbook and/or the website for if you still need to purchase any last items for new members! Now is the last optimal time to order so that your student has what they need for the first performances. If you are in need of any financial assistance, please feel free to reach out. 5/31/22 - Marching Band Meet & Greet

Hello Everyone,

Tomorrow, Wednesday 6/1, we'll have our first marching band meeting at the High School for all members! New members, we're excited to meet you and get you involved, it's going to be a great season!

This is a great opportunity to get your music, request and receive an instrument (as applicable), get summer communication set up, and meet other members of the band before the fall!

Schedule

4:00 pm - Meet in band room (north side of the building)

4:00 pm - 4:15 pm - Find section leaders, get music, request a marching instrument, and welcome

4:15 pm - 4:30 pm - Head to Fireman's Park (next to the high school) to make concert arches

4:30 pm - 5:30 pm - Play through and sight read music! Warm ups, Show music (Mvt. 1), and Fight Song

5:30 pm - Dismissal

Water bottle

Instrument

Sunscreen if needed (We'll be outside for about an hour)
