Hello band parents,

The district Solo & Ensemble festival is just around the corner on Saturday, February 9th!  As in years past, many parent and student volunteers are needed to make this event possible; the greatest area of need is for room monitors in morning and afternoon shifts.  With over 800 performances this year from MHS, GCMS, KMS, and a few nearby schools, we need all hands on deck!

The first draft of the schedule was released to students last week (ask your student when they perform).  The second draft (with many changes) will be released online tomorrow.

Thank you in advance for participating in this year's MCPASD Solo & Ensemble festival!

Hello Jazz Orchestra Students and Parents, Due to the infrequency of rehearsal time and today's snow day, we have decided to not participate in the UW-Platteville Jazz Festival that would have taken place this upcoming Friday during the school day. We apologize for any inconvenience this might have caused, but we feel it would not be in the best interest of the students at this time.  Next rehearsal we will be starting new music. Thank you, Eric Rothacker

Hello Band Parents and Students,  On January 24th and 25th the award winning Akropolis Reed Quintet will be in Middleton working with MHS, Kromrey, and Glacier Creek students, who will have an opportunity to work directly with the members of Akropolis in preparation for Solo and Ensemble. Akropolis will inspire students as they share their musical expertise in master classes as well as perspectives about careers in music.  The residency will culminate with a concert the the Middleton Performing Arts Center at 7pm on Friday, January 25th. The concert is free admission and will feature over 40 Middleton High School students and the Akropolis Reed Quintet. We hope to see you there!  For more information please visit MHS BOPA and Akropolis Quintet websites.
